When talking about computer software or programs, Windows comes first. Windows is a software or program (operating system) of a computer that manages the computer's hardware (hardware) or mechanical systems. For example, when we buy a smartphone, it has a battery and many other parts inside it; those parts are called hardware. And the smartphone through which we operate is called a program. As you have all heard about the iPhone, the iPhone is managed by a program called IOS, and you have heard about the Samsung Galaxy phone in the market. Here, an Android program is used for the Samsung Galaxy phone, just like Windows for the computer. The most popular and commercially successful software or program is Windows 95, followed by Windows 98, then Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and the latest series, Windows 8, windows 10, and windows 11. However, the most common and easy-to-master Windows is Windows XP (XP). But currently, all Windows XP's services have been stopped by its founder Microsoft, so we will learn everything about Windows 7 because it is now the most popular for everyone.
Software is the lifeblood of a computer. Generally, to do any work by computer, there is a particular need for software. The software manages the computer. It makes the computer work. Software is the computer's instructions. The operating system is an essential part of a computer. The computer hardware or any program will not work without the operating system. People can easily use the computer because of the operating system. So, an operating system is critical in computer education. The operating system creates an environment suitable for running computer programs. An operating system is a software used to manage a computer. That is, the software that coordinates the various parts of the computer and uses the capabilities of the computer to run the application software is the operating system. In other words, all the computer's programs are called operating systems. This is very important.
Computer software is an invisible force. If we consider the human body hardware, the software is its soul. The hardware does the computing work, and the software runs the computer. All the programs required to use the operational capabilities of the computer hardware are called software. The software maintains communication between the user and the hardware. Under the influence of suitable software, the computer transforms from an inert material into an intelligent machine with mathematical power. Different types of package programs and programming procedures written in higher languages fall under the category of related program software. Computer software can be mainly divided into two categories based on practical importance. For example-
The mouse is a small computer input device that can be pressed into the palm of the user's hand. 80% of the work we do on the computer is done with the mouse, and the remaining 20% is done with the keyboard. The mouse is usually placed on the table next to the computer. It must be worked by hand and moved on a smooth surface on the table. Most of the tasks are performed with the mouse on the computer. Currently, the mouse running on the Windows operating system has three buttons 1. primary/left button, 2. wheel button, 3. Secondary/right button. Except for two or four special functions, the buttons on the left side are mostly used. When we move the mouse on the computer, an arrow-like thing is seen; it is called the mouse pointer. This pointer changes based on the task and takes different forms.
The mouse pointer takes different forms for different tasks. Clicking the mouse is called clicking the mouse button by placing the mouse pointer anywhere on the screen. Pressing the mouse button once is called a click. Similarly, pressing the mouse button twice is called a double click. To open a file or program with the mouse, double-click the left side button with the mouse pointer on that file or program. To close or minimize a running program, click once with the left button to close or minimize it.
With the button on the right side, you can know the details of any file or program, including "save, paste, cut." The button on the right side always needs to be clicked once. There is no need to click twice with this button. The middle or wheel buttons are only helpful for going up and down a significant page. For example, if you are reading a magazine, if the page is effective, you can quickly go up and down with this button.
To start the computer, click on the monitor's and the PC's power buttons and wait for a while; your computer will turn on quickly. There is nothing to learn here. However, you should always follow some rules for turning off the computer.
The general working area of Windows programs is called the desktop. All the icons are arranged on the desktop of the computer. The entire screen around the monitor is called the desktop. Note that there are some icons on the top left-hand side, the start menu is below, and some mini-icons with the clock time on the bottom right side; there is a whole background in the middle, and this place is called the desktop.
